Finance & Grants Bookkeeping Consultant
Plural Horizons e.V. is looking for a freelance Finance & Grants Bookkeeping Consultant to support our growing work.
Plural Horizons is a Berlin-based nonprofit association working at the intersection of inclusive governance, research, movement infrastructure, arts, culture, and transnational solidarity. As our donor portfolio grows, we are looking for someone who can help us build clean, reliable, and donor-compliant finance systems from the beginning.
The consultant will support us with setting up and maintaining QuickBooks, organizing project-based bookkeeping, tracking restricted donor funds, reconciling transactions, preparing budget-vs-actual reports, organizing receipts and financial documentation, and supporting donor reporting processes.
This is a part-time freelance consultancy, not a full-time position.
We expect the workload to vary with reporting periods, with an estimated 10–15 hours per month and a possible increase during peak periods to a maximum of 18 hours per month.
The annual budget is approximately €4,000–€5,000, depending on the agreed scope and rate.
We are especially interested in someone with experience in nonprofit bookkeeping, grant management, donor reporting, project-based accounting, QuickBooks, and/or German association structures.
Familiarity with international civil society funding, fiscal hosting, or restricted grants would be a strong advantage.
The ideal person is detail-oriented, reliable, discreet, proactive, and able to explain financial information clearly to a small but growing nonprofit team.
To express interest, please send:
1. A short note introducing yourself and your relevant experience;
2. Your hourly or monthly rate;
3. Your availability;
4. A CV, LinkedIn profile, or short portfolio of relevant work.
Please send expressions of interest to: info@pluralhorizons.org
